Manual install of release 3

We encourage that you use the alternative and more automatic method here.

This manual method does not include any provisions for doing automatic updates. To get software updates you will need to come back to this web site and perform a manual download and install of updated files.

Steps:

  • Install the Sun Java environment.
  • Download the IP Protector components and setup on your computer.

This requires significant knowledge of "path statements" and "command line" programs.
This method does not apply to Apple Mac systems, please see this.

Install Sun Microsystems Java

Access the Sun web site for Java Installation here and complete the installation. This link includes some abilities to check if you already have Java and if you need to upgrade. You will need to have Java version 1.4 or later. An alternate method to access the Sun Java site:

A simple test to check if Java is installed is by entering this command and the command line:
On Windows enter: java -version
You should see something very similar to this:
java version "1.4.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1-b21)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.1-b21, mixed mode)
IP Protector setup
Below is a list of the software libraries that are required to run the IP Protector software. Create a directory and download/save each of these files in links below. You many need to right-click and select "save as". It is important that the file names are not changed in the download - some browsers save the files with the extension .html, then need to be as named below with the .jar (a Java library).
IProtect.jar
DGStlkt.jar
IProtLNG.jar
kunststoff.jar
pse.jar
mailapiS.jar
activationS.jar
bouncy.jar
Execute this command from the directory where you saved the above files:
java -cp IProtect.jar;DGStlkt.jar;IProtLNG.jar;kunststoff.jar;
pse.jar;mailapiS.jar;activationS.jar;bouncy.jar dgsi.ext.CreateGUI
In the above command there is a line-feed before "pse.jar" that you need to remove. You can copy and paste the above text into a .bat or .cmd file on Windows.
